Katie Gambardella, Speech-Language Pathologist & Owner
Hi! I'm Katie. I'm a speech-language pathologist who holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through the state of Massachusetts and through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). I earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Molloy College in New York.
Throughout my career I have experience in public schools (preschool to high school), hospitals, out-patient clinics, and private practice. My experience includes the evaluation and treatment of children with: speech sound disorders, receptive and expressive language delays, social pragmatic language disorders, stuttering, autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC). I have worked collaboratively alongside other professionals such as occupational therapists, physical therapists, board certified behavior analysts, general and special education teachers, school psychologists and school adjustment counselors. I believe in the importance of understanding the whole child.
My philosophy includes combining evidence-based practices with fun therapy! I strongly believe in the importance of collaboration with families and related professionals in the child's environment to facilitate the most success for the child's communication skills. I like to incorporate play, music, and literacy in my sessions while catering to my client's strengths, interests and motivations.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, taking walks, being near the water, gardening and trying new recipes!
